Why a Global Business Structure is inevitable

Protection, legal tax optimisation and asset protection: Stefan Neuss explains why owners of high six-figure businesses and above need a global business structure.

Why a Global Business Structure is inevitable
For owners of companies with high six-figure revenue or more, a global business structure is no longer a luxury. That is the view of Stefan Neuss, founder of WERA Capital Partners. Rising government spending, higher taxes and growing hostility towards wealth make planning ahead essential, he says, and he gives three reasons.

Reason one: protection

In unstable times, business owners can quickly become a target, because they have what many others want: cash, money and assets. Governments can change the rules at home, but their reach into foreign countries is limited. Spreading a business across several jurisdictions reduces dependence on any single one.

Reason two: legal tax optimisation

Neuss is clear on one point: taxes must be paid. "I will never encourage you not to pay your taxes," he says. "Don't break the law for money. It's not worth it." But taxes can be optimised legally before they are paid. Owners who stay within the law are protected; those who cross the line risk losing everything.

Reason three: asset protection and "island solutions"

The third reason is security for the owner and their family. Neuss recommends several independent setups in different countries, which he calls island solutions. If the situation in one country becomes difficult, the owner can move to another jurisdiction where everything is already prepared, and life continues. "Never depend on one solution," he advises.

Planning comes first

A global structure has to be designed carefully, considering the business, the family and the laws of every country involved. WERA Capital Partners helps six, seven and eight-figure business owners plan protection, legal tax optimisation and international setups. A 15-minute private consultation is the first step.
